New Bose DVD Home Entertainment Systems Feature Cirrus DVD Video Processor
AUSTIN, Texas--Dec. 5, 2001--In a market where DVD players became the fastest-selling consumer electronic product ever(a), Cirrus Logic Inc. today announced that the world's premier manufacturer of high-end music and home theater systems, Bose(R) Corporation, has chosen Cirrus' CS98000, an advanced DVD video processor, to power three new models of Bose DVD-based home entertainment systems.Cirrus' CS98000 and supporting chips enhance the capability of Bose DVD-based home theater systems to deliver exceptional DVD movie reproduction and outstanding surround sound output.
"The sales of DVD players in 2002 are predicted to hit 39 million, with projections as high as 60 million by 2004, with complete DVD home theater systems becoming a larger part of the market," said Michelle Abraham, senior analyst, Cahner's In-Stat. In fact, the Bose 3-2-1, Lifestyle(R) 28 and Lifestyle 35 home entertainment systems are already on shelves across the nation in time for Christmas.

The Cirrus CS98000 processor provides all necessary audio and video processing functions in home theater systems, including DVD video disk navigation, sub-picture decoding, MPEG-2 video decoding, along with Dolby Digital(R), DTS(R) and MP3 decoding.
In addition to the CS98000 processor, the Bose Lifestyle 28 and Lifestyle 35 DVD home entertainment systems also rely on a variety of Cirrus home entertainment class audio DACs, audio Codecs, video DACs, SPDIF receivers and transmitters.
3-2-1 Home Entertainment System
The new Bose 3-2-1 home entertainment system (say Three-Two-One) offers a DVD-based digital system, with easy three-wire set-up. Two new speaker arrays work with the new Bose proprietary signal processing to deliver most of the performance of a premium five-speaker surround system.
