Engineous Software Named as Finalist in 2002 PACE Awards; iSIGHT Cited in Information Technology Category
CARY, N.C.--Dec. 4, 2001--Engineous Software Inc., provider of the award-winning integration, automation, and design improvement software iSIGHT and related strategic services, announced today that it has been named a finalist in the 2002 PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contributions to Excellence) Awards. The eighth annual program, co-sponsored with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and Automotive News, pays tribute to automotive suppliers who have embraced innovation or adapted and reinvented themselves to keep up with the constantly rising performance bar of the automotive industry. Of the submitting companies worldwide, Engineous is honored to be one of only 18 designated finalists that include premier suppliers such as Delphi, Visteon, Goodyear, BASF, and Siemens.
Engineous was selected as a PACE finalist in the "Information Technology Innovation" category for iSIGHT, an evolutionary software framework for integrating, automating and optimizing the design process for products in the automotive, aerospace, electronics, and other industries.
The iSIGHT software was chosen for its acceptance by the automotive industry to dramatically improve the productivity of human resources, reduce the product design cycle time, and improve product performance and quality.
Key to being chosen as a finalist was Engineous' ability to demonstrate how iSIGHT technology impacts the automotive industry. For example, when integrated into an automotive product design process, iSIGHT intelligently investigates a myriad of design possibilities until the best solutions are calculated, providing superior insight and decision-making intelligence to users. Companies have put this technology to use to dramatically improve productivity and to solve critical design problems such as reducing the weight of vehicles while maintaining safety and stiffness targets, improving engine torque performance and volume efficiency, and slashing dangerous engine emissions. Companies have also used iSIGHT to reduce product design cycle time by as much as 90%, saving millions of dollars in weight, labor, and manufacturing costs.
"We are honored that we are a finalist in an award program that is now regarded as one of the most prestigious in the auto industry. This recognition validates the impact that our technology has had on automotive OEMs and their suppliers," said Michael Sheh, VP of the Engineous Automotive Business Group.
"In the past two years, we have seen a dramatic increase in our automotive client base worldwide. Even in the current difficult economic conditions, we see an accelerated rate of adoption. Based on our experience with existing clients, we expect that in the very near term, iSIGHT will generate even more of an impact in the auto industry in terms of productivity, design for six-sigma deployment, weight reduction, improved engine performance and fuel economy, and significant reduction of dangerous emissions."
The winners of the PACE award will be announced on March 4 at a ceremony at the Detroit Opera House in Detroit, Michigan.
