American Honda Sales Set November Record
TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 3 -- American Honda sales of 90,153 were up 11.5 percent compared to year ago levels and set a new November record, according to sales figures released today by American Honda Motor, Co., Inc.
A 24.0 percent jump in light truck sales led the way and set a new November truck record of 26,749. Sales of the all-new CR-V, which went on sale in November, rose 57.6 percent to 10,709. Odyssey sales of 11,475 were up 17.8 percent. Both CR-V and Odyssey totals were new November records.
``Consumers continue to respond to the values in the marketplace,'' said Dick Colliver, American Honda executive vice president. ``Whether it's special financing or Honda's proven product quality, people are buying value.''
Honda Division sales of 76,508 were up 12.6 percent to a new November record. Accord sales of 29,316 were up 6.9 percent and Civic sales of 22,362 were up 6.1 percent.
Acura Division sales of 13,645 were up 5.8 percent, as 2,350 sales of the new RSX pushed the Division to a new November record. TL sales of 5,233 also posted a new record for the month, up 9.3 percent.
Year-to-date American Honda sales of 1,112,757 are 3.9 percent ahead of last year's all-time record pace.
