American Suzuki Breaks Sales Record for Second Month in a Row

BREA, Calif., Dec. 3 -- American Suzuki Motor Corporation marked its highest November sales in company history, selling 5,176 vehicles for the month, a 41 percent sales increase over November 2000, breaking sales records for the second month in a row. The XL-7 SUV continues to sell well, notching 3,026 sales for the month. ASMC's year-to-date sales totaled 60,781 units, an eight percent increase over the same period in 2000.

``Despite the U.S. recession, Suzuki's sales confirm that value-savvy buyers know a got-to-have-it purchase when they see it. The XL-7's increasing popularity is driving our sales success, as more consumers are gaining awareness of this vehicle's unique positioning and great value,'' said Gary Anderson, American Suzuki vice president of sales. ``We're pleased that our sales are strong, even in this tough economy.''
