Subaru Posts Best November in History

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Dec. 3 -- Subaru of America, Inc., a pioneer of all-wheel drive crossover vehicles designed for the active lifestyle, announced today record November sales. Subaru sold a total of 16,122 units in November, representing an increase of 13% from the same period last year. The November total represents the ninth consecutive month of year- over-year sales increases for the Subaru brand.

``Subaru dealerships were very busy in November, as evidenced by our best November sales result since 1985,'' said Subaru Executive Vice President, Fred Adcock. ``In total, Subaru sales are up 8% for the year, and we're currently on pace to achieve our best result ever in the U.S.''

Subaru Legacy and Outback models recorded sales totals of 8,013 and 5,874 units respectively in November. Subaru Forester posted a total of 4,640 units, up 12% from last year and a new November record for this popular all- wheel drive crossover. Subaru Impreza continued its tremendous sales success, with 3,469 units posted, an increase of 142% from last year. The Impreza total also established a new record for November. To date, Subaru has sold a total of 170,018 units in 2001, up 8% from 2000 totals for the same period.
