'Car for America' Customized Cavalier Donated to eBay's 'Auction for America'; Traffic-Stopping, Flag-Waving Custom Chevy Is Tribute To Tuner Technology; Available for Bidding on eBay Motors
SAN JOSE, Calif.--Nov. 29, 2001--SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, joins eBay's "Auction for America" with a stirring tribute to tuner technology. Beginning Monday, Nov. 26th, a dramatic red, white and blue stars-and-stripes Chevrolet Cavalier, contributed by SEMA member company American Products Company (APC), will be available for bidding on eBay Motors (www.ebaymotors.com) for 10 days as part of eBay's special campaign to fund relief programs for the victims of the Sept. 11th attacks.SEMA's lavishly appointed and highly customized "enjoythedrive.com Car For America" will be offered with no reserve price or requirement for minimum bid. All proceeds from its sale will be donated to "Auction for America's" September 11th Fund.
This one-of-a-kind 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, with a spectacular American flag motif lavishly gracing its fenders, flanks, hood and roof, received more than $15,000 worth of additional aftermarket upgrades and vehicle enhancements before its recent public debut at the 2001 SEMA Show*ITE in Las Vegas.
APC has added AROSpeed coilover units and an APC Intimidator muffler system to the car's factory equipment package. Its exterior has been modified with an APC carbon fiber hood, a Wings West body kit and rear spoiler, APC Super White Headlights and Euro Taillights, and APC customized grillework to the front and lower fascia. New 19x8-inch ALT wheels and Toyo 225/35 19-inch tires have been fitted and the interior has been extensively reconfigured in black and red vinyl with APC Speed-Glo Gauges and Glo-Pedals included.
"Auction for America" enables eBay users to buy and sell goods or donate cash via the Internet site specifically to help the victims, their families and communities of the terrorist attacks. One hundred percent of all proceeds will benefit one of six charitable organizations selected by the seller, including the September 11th Children's Fund, the Robin Hood Relief Fund, September 11th Fund, the New York State World Trade Center Relief Fund, the Twin Towers Fund and the American Red Cross.
