ELI Innovation Selects Duraswitch Technology for Dairy Monitoring Equipment

    PHOENIX--Nov. 29, 2001--Duraswitch Industries Inc.'s PushGate(TM)technology was selected for control keypads in milk metering equipment by ELI Innovation, an Australian-based designer and manufacturer of integrated dairy management systems.
    Designed for use on dairy farms throughout Australia and the world, the keypads will be manufactured by Duraswitch licensee, Markit Graphics Pty. Ltd.
    ELI Innovation has strict requirements for this application's quality standards. Durability was the key criteria. As farms are often based in remote locations, downtime to fix or replace damaged units can be very costly to its milk production customers.

    "Positive tactile response was a design consideration, however it was expected that farm workers would be heavy handed in their use of the switch, making conventional membrane switching vulnerable to damage. Furthermore, sanitary requirements demand high-pressure hosing to clean the area."
    Duraswitch's fully integrated panels are environmentally sealed and provide the extreme durability to stand up to such rough conditions. Markit Graphics produces the panels for ELI Innovation using Duraswitch PushGate switches, which are ultra thin and integrated into the sleek panel with a single flex-tail connection.
