Patricia Mills Named Asst General Counsel for CART

DETROIT, Nov. 27 -- Championship Auto Racing Teams, Inc. announced today that Patricia Mills will join the organization on Thursday, November 29 in the newly-created position of Assistant General Counsel. Mills will report to Senior Vice President/Chief Legal Officer Deborah Schneider.

Mills comes to CART with several years of experience in the Detroit-area public relations industry, and her career includes stints in the public relations departments of WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 and WJBK-TV/Channel 2. She graduated from Wayne State University Law School and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. Since August, Mills has worked for Ford Motor Company as an attorney on the Firestone Tire Litigation Team.

``We're extremely pleased to welcome Patricia to CART,'' Schneider said. ``She brings a wealth of experience with her, and we were fortunate to find somebody with such a unique and diverse background.''

Mills is an avid horseback rider, and actually served as a deputy sheriff for Oakland County Sheriff's Mounted Division from April, 1995 through May, 1997. She has also been a volunteer for Michigan 4-H Horseback Riding For Handicappers since April, 2001.

``It looks as if I'll be putting the CART before the horse,'' said Mills. ``I just want to say how honored I am to be joining CART. During the interview process I was impressed with the caliber of people I met. It's a group of really bright, dedicated individuals, who are clearly passionate about open wheel racing. I'm proud to be joining the team.''
