McLaren to Take GM Racing Cylinder Head From Prototype-to-Production

LIVONIA, Mich. and OLDCASTLE, Ontario, Nov. 27 -- McLaren Performance Technologies, Inc. announced that it has been named by GM Racing as the development and manufacturing source for its new VorTech V8 performance cylinder head. McLaren Performance will work in partnership with GM Racing to fulfill its design intent for the cast-iron performance aftermarket and racing component.

The new VorTech V8 cylinder head will be developed at the McLaren Engines facilities in Livonia, Michigan according to GM Racing design intent and will be manufactured by McLaren Performance Products in Oldcastle, Ontario, Canada.

McLaren Performance Technologies provides full-service design, development, fabrication, manufacturing, testing, validation and certification of automotive powertrains and related components. In addition, it develops and licenses patented traction control technology and has full vehicle development and prototyping capability. McLaren Performance Technologies was first established as the engine development company for Bruce McLaren Motor Racing in 1969.
