GM Selects VESTAR for Energy Savings Projects
CINCINNATI--Nov. 27, 2001--VESTAR, Inc., an affiliate of Cinergy Corp. , has been selected by General Motors to design and implement energy savings projects at several of its automotive manufacturing facilities.VESTAR will provide the engineering, construction management and financing of the projects, which will include lighting and paint shop retrofits to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs for GM. The project covers 13 facilities in six states (Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Louisiana, Kentucky and Delaware). The multi-million dollar series of projects is expected to be completed by March, 2002. Terms of the agreement and projected savings were not disclosed for competitive reasons.
"These energy saving projects will improve our work environment and reduce emissions from the production of the energy, giving us a double benefit," said Joseph Bibeau, utility service group director -- worldwide operations for GM.

VESTAR is the second Cinergy affiliate involved in energy projects with GM, joining Cinergy Solutions, Inc., which provides combined heat and power production services at GM facilities in Michigan, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
