GM To Close Hamtramck for One Week

Sacramento - General Motors plans a weeklong shutdown of its Hamtramck assembly plant in Detroit beginning today. The plant builds the Buick LeSabre and Cadillac Seville and Deville models, all of which are in need of inventory adjustment.

G.M. said truck plants in Arlington, Texas, Fort Wayne, Ind., Janesville, Wis., Pontiac (East), Mich., and Oshawa, Ont. will all work overtime for all or at least part of this week.
