Delphi Names New Execs for Battery, Generator Product Lines

FLINT, Mich., Nov. 26 -- Delphi Automotive Systems announced today the following personnel moves in its Energy & Chassis Systems division:

Pankaj Dhingra is named business line executive (BLE), battery business. Dhingra has been the interim BLE for this product line since August 2001. In this position, Dhingra will have responsibility for Delphi's global battery business and report to Robert J. Remenar, executive director of business lines, Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems. Prior to this assignment, Dhingra was assistant finance director for Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems. He also held previous positions in treasury, new business development and new venture development within General Motors. Prior to joining General Motors, Dhingra worked in sales and marketing with the Unisys Corporation.

Dhingra earned a bachelor's degree in electric and electronic engineering from Virla Institute of Technology and Science in India in 1981 and an MBA in marketing and finance from Columbia Business School in New York in 1992.

Ron Pogue is named business line executive (BLE), generator business. In this role Ron will be responsible for the overall strategy of Delphi's global generator business and report to Remenar. Pogue has 30 years of automotive experience, including positions within General Motors such as chief engineer of controls, chief engineer for ignition and director of engineering and quality worldwide.

In 1994, he was named director of the electric hybrid and vehicle propulsion systems business team for the former AC Delco Systems division in Indianapolis, Ind., and was given additional responsibility for the ignition and sensor/solenoid business teams. Pogue was named director of the battery business team a year later.

Pogue holds a bachelor's degree in electrical technology from Purdue University and a master's degree in management from Ball State University. He completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard University in 1990.

Pogue will continue to act as Delphi Automotive Systems' liaison with Battery Council International, an industry trade association of which he is currently president.

Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems BLEs are responsible for business and product strategy and integration across the functions; product success -- demonstrating passion, excitement and entrepreneurial spirit around their respective business line; product value stream; profit and loss for the business product line(s); leadership of the product teams; administration of the product development process; and program management.

Both appointments are effective immediately.
