Canadian Discovery Rally Summer 2002

Toronto, ON, November 23, 2001 – A completely new and unique automobile
and motorcycle rally is to take place in summer 2002. The rally is
entirely different from any other automobile competition known.

The Canadian Discovery is an international rally across Canada. The idea
for this competition originates in the long-past pioneering times of the
automobile and adds an interesting element of nostalgia and adventure to
the project.

Be a part of it!

The rally will take place from June 29 – July 21, 2002 between Halifax
(Atlantic Ocean) and Vancouver (Pacific Ocean). The length of the route
is approx 8,000 km.

The participants are not professional drivers but journalists and
automobile and motorcycle fans. There are two categories of competitors:
Journalists and Fans. The route will take the participants through Nova
Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba,
Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.

Amazing adventure

There will be no prescribed route – the participants will receive
information about the start and end of the route, and control points on
the route. How they will get there is completely up to them. It is not
the speed but the most efficient route that will decide the winner. Part
of each stage will be a set of special driving skills tests, i.e.
off-road test, speed test, slalom, etc. These tests will be evaluated
and points added to the overall score of the crew. A total of these
special tasks points and points for driven kilometers will establish the
winner of the Canadian Discovery rally.

The Canadian Discovery rally will start on the eve of Canada Day, on
June 29, 2002. It will be a unique present to Canada’s 135th birthday
and opportunity to attract domestic and foreign tourists’ attention to
Canada as the perfect place to experience unusual and adventurous
vacation.

Journalists from around the world are receiving their invitations to
participate in the Canadian Discovery rally, as is general public in
several countries through established travel agencies.

Partners are invited

The organizers are in the process of negotiations with several potential
sponsors who could benefit from the publicity and non-traditional form
of promotion. Companies interested in participation and establishing a
new tradition are welcome to contact Norafin Inc. Public Relation and
Media Department at media@norafin.com.

Offer to Journalists

We would like to extend our invitation to participate in the Canadian
Discovery.

Start in the rally is conditional upon the payment of an entry fee.
Journalists have the opportunity to secure financial means for
participation by finding sponsors in their native country and present
these sponsors by placing their corporate logo on their vehicle during
the competition. Other means of advertisement for the sponsors could be
articles about the Canadian Discovery in local media and through other
means, subject to negotiations.
