Opel Vivaro is Denmark's "Van of the Year 2002"
Rüsselsheim - The Opel Vivaro has added another award to its collection: the title, "Van of the Year 2002" in Denmark. The Vivaro and its sister model, Renault Trafic (Above), received 108 out of a possible total of 110 points from the eleven-member jury of the "Club of Danish Motoring Journalists". The new van and transporter range won the title with a clear lead of 52 points over the other four nominees. The all-new Combo came in third, rounding off a successful day for Opel.
With the Vivaro, Opel has introduced an innovative generation of vans and transporters, offering customers a unique combination of striking styling with high functionality and efficiency. The newcomer in the 2.8-ton gross-vehicle-weight category offers a maximum payload of 1200 kilos and a cargo volume of up to six cubic meters. The Vivaro's strengths also include its car-like safety, handling and comfort. Thanks to its repair and service-friendly design, the Vivaro has the best insurance rating in its segment. The Vivaro has already won prizes such as "Best New Van" in the "2001 Fleet World Honors" and the "gold award" for the "Best Small Panel Van" in the U.K.
The all-new Opel Combo, which is largely based on the third-generation Corsa, also combines the functionality of a commercial vehicle with the comfort and handling of a passenger car. It is the first compact delivery van by a German manufacturer designed as a "monocab" and offers best-in-class figures in many areas: With 3200 liters, it has the largest cargo volume, its maximum payload is 810 kilograms, and the maximum permitted trailer weight is 1.2 tons. As with the Vivaro, long servicing intervals, efficient engines, as well as repair and service-friendly design contribute to low maintenance costs.
