ATLANTA, Nov. 19 -- Delta Air Lines today said it now provides estimated airport wait times at its delta.com Web site. The new online feature gives customers the opportunity to check estimated peak and off-peak wait times for curbside check-in, ticket counters, and security check points at approximately 115 airports, including those in the United States, San Juan, St. Thomas, Aruba, Bermuda, Nassau, and Grand Cayman.

``We know our customers want as much information as possible at their finger tips in order to plan their arrival accordingly at the airport, and we're glad to provide them with this data via delta.com,'' said Steve Scheper, Delta's managing director of e-Business, Business to Consumer. ``This new feature will not only put our customers in more control of their travel experience, it also will enhance the airport experience by helping facilitate passenger traffic at check-in locations and security checkpoints.''

Delta customers can access the airport wait time information for their departure airport when they view their itinerary. They can also view airport wait times for all available airports from several other locations at delta.com, including the Flight Schedules and Flight Information sections.

Scheper said that by providing the estimated wait times online, Delta creates a direct communication channel of relevant information between its airport locations and its customers. Future product versions will include accessibility via toll-free telephone, Palm Powered(TM) handhelds and Web- enabled phones. This new delta.com feature is a direct result of customer feedback and collaborative efforts among Delta's Airport Customer Service and e-Business units and Delta Technology.

Other online tools that put the customers in more control of their travel experience include seat selection, upgrades, real-time flight information, SkyMiles account management, e-mail programs, SkyMiles online award redemption, electronic timetables, and SkyMiles Medallion Virtual Check In. Customers can use Delta's electronic ticket self-service kiosks to enhance their travel experience. Delta's self-service kiosks also enable Delta's e- ticketed SkyMiles customers to assign seats, upgrade, request an e-ticket receipt, answer FAA security questions, check in and receive boarding cards for originating and connecting flights and more.
