34 Companies Attend 8th Nistevo Network Community Meeting

    MINNEAPOLIS--Nov. 19, 2001--

Leading U.S. Shippers and Carriers Meet to Discuss Economic Trends,
Transportation Management Advancements, and Shared Best Practices

Nistevo Corp., a leading provider of a Web-based Collaborative Logistics Network(SM), announced today that its 8th Network Community Meeting was attended by 34 of its shipper and carrier member companies. Nistevo's members meet periodically to discuss how to further accelerate the value they are deriving from the Network -- through member case studies, product updates, one-on-one collaborative meetings, industry keynotes, and networking time with other members. The meeting took place in Minneapolis on November 6th and 7th.

    Expanded Participation

Attendance at the event grew by 20% compared to the June meeting, with participation from new carrier and shipper members, as well as expanded organizational representation. New shipper companies since the June meeting included Baxter Healthcare Corporation and Silgan Container Corporation.

    Network Use Results Shared

During the conference, representatives from Georgia-Pacific Corporation, General Mills, Inc., Ivex Packaging Corporation, and Land O'Lakes, Inc. shared their experiences and results from new or increased use of the Nistevo Network since the previous community meeting in June 2001. Customer presentations represented the variety of Network uses, including contract management, shipment visibility, execution, and collaboration.
"Having completed our implementation since the last community meeting, it was beneficial for us to share how we are leveraging the transportation execution capabilities of the Network, and learn from other members who are using Nistevo's other modules, including collaboration," said Judy Ohannesian, director of supply chain strategy at Land O'Lakes, Inc. "Compared to other enterprise systems, our implementation of the Nistevo Network was both rapid and easy due to our business process set-up, in-depth product testing, and Nistevo's hosted software model. By sharing our experiences with other members, we hope their results will be similar."
Today the Nistevo Network has managed more than 200 million miles of truckload freight movement.

Examining the Role of Transportation in the New Economy

Nistevo welcomed Robert Delaney as the conference's keynote presenter. Mr. Delaney is co-author of the 12th Annual "State of the Logistics Report"(c), vice president at Cass Information Systems, and a consultant to ProLogis. He discussed how today's economic trends are impacting the transportation industry. According to his latest analysis, conducted after the events of September 11, 2001, "there will be a re-examination of shipping patterns and existing relationships. There may be an increase in safety stock with our investment in business inventory. There will be an increase in our logistics costs primarily due to security. But, the cost increase is not likely to be inflationary and it will be well within our capacity to absorb."
The next Nistevo Network Community Meeting is scheduled for April 2002.
