The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce instituted the Lucia Trade Award in 1987 to honor the spirit of understanding through communication and commerce. The prize is presented annually to a leader dedicated to free international trade.
"Bill Ford has established himself as a visionary leader of the automotive industry. We honor him for his support of free international trade and the promotion of environmentally friendly business practices," said Henry Gooss, Chairman of the Board, Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce.
