CRIME STOPPERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY SIGNS ON WITH HOPES TO SOLVE 12-YEAR-OLD
MURDER CASE.
JUPITER FL. - The murder has been turned over to the Cold Case Department of
the Palm Beach County Florida Sheriffs Office. "It still remains high on our
list to solve this case" said Crime Stoppers Program Coordinator Sgt. Jim
DeFago "and we know there are people out there that must know something" The
case he is referring to is the murder of 14-year-old Rachel Hurley who was
killed at Carlin Park in Jupiter on March 17, 1990.
"We want to bring this case to the attention of people not just in
Florida but nationwide." said Richard Weber, spokesman for the #55 Powers
Motorsports NASCAR Craftsman Truck Team. "We kick off our season in February
and what better way to get the word out to people than through the power of
NASCAR. We would like to help bring this case to a close."
The Powers Motorsports Dodge, with driver Tom Powers, will display the
Crime Stoppers logo along with a picture of Rachel Hurley for the February
