Industry's Leading Executives Will Address Automotive News World Congress

DETROIT, Nov. 7 -- General Motors President and CEO Rick Wagoner and Nissan Motor Company President and CEO Carlos Ghosn are among nearly three dozen automotive industry leaders scheduled to address the Automotive News World Congress. The 2002 event is slated for Monday - Thursday, Jan. 14 - 17, at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn in Dearborn, Mich.

2002: Meeting the Challenge of a Connected World is the theme of the 26th annual Automotive News World Congress, the world's leading automotive conference. Sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers, in cooperation with the Center for Automotive Research, the conference runs concurrently with the North American International Auto Show.

More than 1,000 automotive industry leaders and decision-makers are expected to attend the four-day conference, which features:

  • an address by Nick Scheele, Ford Motor Company's newly appointed chief operating officer, during the Jan. 15 dinner program;
  • remarks by DaimlerChrysler President and CEO Dieter Zetsche and Patrick le Quement, senior vice president, corporate design, Renault at the Jan. 16 Gala Dinner;
  • presentation of the Automotive News/PricewaterhouseCoopers Shareholder Value Awards to manufacturers, suppliers and retailers (Gala Dinner);
  • presentation of the BorgWarner Championship Driver's Trophy to Helio Castroneves, 2001 Indy 500 and Detroit Grand Prix winner and the BorgWarner Team Owner's Trophy to Roger Penske (Gala Dinner); and
  • a tour of the North American International Auto Show.

The early-bird registration fee for all four days of the Automotive News World Congress is $1,195 before Saturday, Dec. 1. The registration fee is $1,295 after Dec. 1.
