Mitchell Medical Adds Leading PPO to Its Decision Point Provider Network for the Auto Injury Claims Industry
SAN DIEGO--Nov. 7, 2001--Mitchell Medical, the premier provider of casualty claims solutions for the auto insurance industry, has added Beech Street Corp., the nation's largest independently owned medical Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) to its Decision Point Provider Network.
The addition will allow insurance companies using Decision Point to easily and quickly exchange information regarding their customers enrolled with Beech Street.
"We are very pleased to continue to add leading national and regional PPOs such as Beech Street to our network as a time and labor-saving convenience for our customers," said Tom McCarthy, senior vice president and general manager of Mitchell Medical. "Now, insurance companies can use our Decision Point Provider Network to send data to Beech Street and receive data back all electronically. There is never a need for paper forms or the reentering of data."
"Beech Street works with more than 750 payers nationally and our addition to Decision Point will make it much easier for them to exchange data with us," said Bill Hale, Beech Street president and chief executive officer. "This is a great opportunity for us to become involved with the automotive injury claims industry's leading medical management provider network."
Beech Street Corp. has been in business since 1951 and is based in Lake Forest, Calif., serving more than 16 million individuals throughout the United States. Beech Street, with its fully accredited and integrated health care management services, has more than 3,300 acute care hospitals and over 320,000 individual physicians under contract across the United States.
Other PPOs already participating with the Decision Point Provider Network include San Diego-based CCN, the nation's largest PPO with more than 32 million covered individuals, and Focus Healthcare Management, a Franklin, Tenn.-based organization operating in 43 states and the District of Columbia.
"These auto-specific networks have a high concentration of the trauma specialists, physical therapists, chiropractors and other doctors most needed by first-party claimants," McCarthy said. "Our clients have network access in all 50 states. Combined, these networks have more than 700,000 professional providers, hospitals, and other inpatient and outpatient facilities."
