ADVISORY/AAA Announces 2002 Five Diamond Awards, Pays Special Tribute to New York City

WHAT:             Announces the 2002 AAA Five Diamond Award winners, 
                  one of the most prestigious awards in the
                  hospitality industry.

                  AAA also will present a special award to the City of
                  New York.

    This year's announcement of the AAA Five Diamond Awards is being held in New York City to show support for the city's tourism industry. AAA also will make a special award to the city on Nov. 12 recognizing its standards of excellence for courage and patriotism.
    AAA will reveal the Five Diamond properties for 2002, including first-time recipients and those select few that have been on the list since the designation was established in 1977. AAA awards the coveted Five Diamonds only to those properties that meet the highest standards and exceed guest expectations.
    Given the impact of the September 11 attacks on travel and tourism, AAA's list should be a boon to Americans looking for outstanding getaways that are a great travel value.
    The AAA Five Diamond Awards ceremony will be held the evening of Nov. 12 at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, in Naples, Fla. Lodging and restaurant winners will be on hand to receive their awards.
