Addington Racing Takes Like a Rock Award

    FONTANA, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2001):  When Travis Kvapil crossed the finish
line on the 57th lap of the 100-lap Auto Club 200 at California Speedway
today, he earned Addington Racing its third straight Chevrolet "Like a Rock"
award and $50,000.

    The Chevrolet "Like a Rock" award, a $50,000 winner-take-all contingency
prize, is designed to recognize the "Most Dependable-Longest Lasting"
Chevrolet-equipped team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series completing the
most laps of competition during a season.

    Driving the No. 60 Cat Rental Stores Chevrolet Silverado in his rookie
season, Kvapil completed 4,211 laps of a possible 4,281 in the 2001 24-race
season.  In 73 races, over three seasons, Addington Racing has completed a
total of 12,644 laps of a possible 12,799, clearly demonstrating that this
team, led by crew chief Rick Ren, has the talent and ability to keep its
Silverado running strong under the most strenuous racing conditions.

    "We at the Silverado Brand are proud of our association with Addington
Racing, a team whose focus is not just on winning, but on finishing each
race," said Maria Rohrer, assistant brand manager for the Silverado Brand at
Chevrolet.  "This award recognizes not only the driver who brings home his
Silverado in one piece in each event, but the strength of the entire 'most
dependable' crew behind him."

    "It's super," said Kvapil, 25, of Janesville, Wis.  "It speaks a
thousand words as to how good this team is.  They did it with two different
drivers.  That shows how good the guys are back at the shop preparing these
trucks for me every week.  The Hendrick motors, they're obviously pretty
durable.  They stand all the miles we put on them.  It's really cool for
this team to do it three years in a row.  It's a big award for the guys;
they take a lot of pride in it.  I'm just glad I was able to drive the
Silverado and just keep it out of trouble the best I could all year long."

    Rick Ren, the only series' crew chief to lead two rookie drivers to wins
(Kvapil, who won one race this year, and Andy Houston, who won one in 2000),
is proud of the team he has assembled.  "It just goes to show the dedication
that everybody has in doing their job, doing it right, looking for problems,
making sure they don't happen.  A lot of that's because we went to a lot of
trouble to show these guys the right way to do things when we started here
and they've all taken it upon themselves that that's part of their job now
and they're dedicated to what they do."

    Kvapil and Addington Racing closed out the 2001 season with one win, 11
top-five finishes, 18 top-10s and Kvapil earned Rookie-of-the-Year honors.
Kvapil's Silverado led 43 laps in 2001.

    The "Like a Rock" award has now been presented five times:
