AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 2 -- The all-new 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup has won Four Wheeler magazine's ``Pickup Truck of the Year'' award, the publication's editor announced today. During an intensive four-day competition, the Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Quad Cab upstaged rivals in the competition.
``All of us at Dodge are elated that Four Wheeler named the all-new Dodge Ram the winner of their 'Pickup Truck of the Year' competition,'' said Jim Julow, Vice President Dodge Division Global Brand Center, DaimlerChrysler Corporation. ``We built on all the successes that made the previous-generation of our award-winning Ram such a strong force in the market. It's great to see the 2002 Dodge Ram carry on the tradition of being the biggest, best and boldest pickup out there.''
``Pickup trucks are the ultimate automotive commodity, so Four Wheeler is especially pleased to acknowledge the excellence of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4,'' said Jon Thompson, Editor, Four Wheeler. ``Because we take pickup trucks seriously, we evaluate them for all their intended functions. And while we included pickups from every manufacturer in this test, the Dodge Ram proved to be most adept at showing us all the qualities enthusiasts look for in a four- wheel-drive pickup.''
