Suzuki Notches Best October Sales in Company History

    BREA, Calif.--Nov. 1, 2001--American Suzuki Motor Corp. marked its highest October sales in company history, selling 6,245 vehicles for the month, a 36 percent sales increase over October 2000.
    The XL-7 SUV had its best sales month since its December 2000 introduction, posting 3,057 sales. ASMC's year-to-date sales totaled 55,605 units, a five-percent increase in year-to-date sales over October 2000.
    "Our zero percent finance offer on all 2001 vehicles, combined with our extension offer to include all 2002 models until January 2, 2002 which we made later in the month, has boosted sales to record levels. We're thrilled with consumer response," said Gary Anderson, American Suzuki vice president of sales. "Our XL-7 has proven to be a smart choice for many value-minded buyers because they can get great financing on an SUV with standard features such as a V6 engine, air conditioning with micron air filtration, along with available seating for seven, heated leather seats and mirrors, and rear air conditioning. All this means consumers can get the amenities they want without the high price tag."
    Suzuki Motor Corp. (SMC) founded the Automotive Division of American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC), located in Brea, in 1985. ASMC markets automobiles in the United States through a network of 420 automotive dealerships in 49 states.
