World TrAID911: Saturn Donates New SUV for Children of 9/11 Victims; All-New 2002 Saturn VUE to be raffled off at Star Studded Event

NEW YORK--Nov. 1, 2001--Saturn is donating an all new 2002 VUE-a compact Sport Utility Vehicle, to be raffled off at the First Annual World TrAID911 Benefit on Monday night, November 5th at the Hammerstein Ballroom at 8:00 p.m.
Raffle tickets will be sold for $25.00. The event, which will be hosted by Chevy Chase and sponsored by Toys R Us, will raise money for educational assistance to the children and spouses of those killed, or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attack on 9/11. The stellar cast for the event includes Richard Belzer, Tom Cavannaugh, Lenny Clarke, Charlotte Church, Felicia Collins, Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra, Catherine Crier, Peter Criss of Kiss, Hallie Eisenberg, Adam Ferrara, Rod Gilbert of the NY Rangers, Gilbert Gottfried, Carol Kane, Cyndi Lauper, Denis Leary, Carlos Leone, Jackie "the Jokeman" Martling, PM Dawn, Joan Osborne, Mary Louise Parker, Seal, Tony Roberts, Colin Quinn, Treat Williams as well as cast members from The Job, Law and Order, 100 Center Street, Oz, The Sopranos, and Third Watch. (Artists are subject to change.) Other artists will be added to the bill as confirmed.
The event is being produced by Josselyne Herman Saccio, co-owner of bicoastal management/production company, REVE Entertainment Group, who started working on the event after being inspired by her 5-year-old daughter, Sophie's efforts to raise cash for the children. A magnificent 20'x40' American Flag, painted with handprints of young New York school children, along with the assistance of the NYFD, will serve as the spectacular backdrop for the evening. Proceeds from the Benefit and a documentary about making the flag, as well as a book compiled of children's' poems and illustrations shown and read at the event, about "what freedom means" will go to the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund (TM). The Fund, with Bill Clinton and Bob Dole chairing key fundraising efforts, will be managed by the Citizen's Scholarship Foundation of America.
The all-new Saturn VUE, known for its fresh styling, innovative technology, safety features and unique interior versatility, will cost between $18,600 and $23,400. Because it will not be available at Saturn retailers until next month, the winner will actually be getting one of the very first production vehicles. Event chairperson, Josselyne Herman Saccio states, "As far as I'm concerned the G in GM stands for Generous. We are so very thrilled that GM and Saturn are helping us to improve the future for these children who have lost so much."
