U.S. Vehicle Mileage Data Goes Interactive on Storydata.com

FUEL CHAMPS AND CHUMPS: U.S. VEHICLE MILEAGE
DATA GOES INTERACTIVE ON STORYDATA.COM

Nov. 1, 2001 - OTTAWA: As the car-show circuit heats up while the economy cools down, fuel efficiency is making a comeback in new vehicle purchase decisions.

As a resource to help U.S. drivers explore their fuel mileage options online, Databeacon Inc. today added a new interactive database entitled "Find Your Mileage Champ!" to Storydata.com (www.storydata.com). Using data from the U.S. Department of Energy, Storydata.com allows site visitors to analyze and explore their mileage options for new-vehicle passenger cars and trucks.

For example, drivers can discover:

·	The best fuel economy of the 2002 model vehicles
·	Average fuel economy by fuel type (ethanol blend, diesel, natural gas, etc.)
·	Average fuel economy by vehicle type (compact cars, 4wd pickups, etc.)

Powered by Databeacon interactive data analysis software, Storydata.com offers site visitors the ability to further slice and dice fuel mileage data in ways that make the most sense to them. They can even choose to keep the fuel mileage data on their own PC for further investigation with Databeacon’s "work offline" feature.

In addition to the "Find Your Mileage Champ" data, other examples of news data available on Storydata.com include the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's data on the costs of a bioterrorist attack, the OECD's projections on age-related spending, and the last five years of U.S. ground-level ozone readings from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
