NASCAR BGN: Jeff Green / Nesquik Racing Rockingham Notes

North Carolina Speedway – November 3, 2001 Jeff Green On "The Rock": Jeff
Green, 2000 NASCAR Busch Series Champion and driver of the No. 10 Nestlé
Nesquik Ford Taurus, is the defending race winner this weekend at North
Carolina Speedway. "The win at Rockingham last fall was one the most exciting
wins in my Busch career," said Green. "There was a late race caution and I
was second to Jeff Burton on the restart with two to go. I was able to pass
him for the win. It was just awesome to be able to win that way -- driver
against driver in a two-lap showdown." "Rockingham is the type of track where
you have to conserve tires to be successful," said Green. "The track is hard
on tires, so a driver really has to be smart and patient. Most of the time,
the drivers with more experience will do better at 'The Rock' because of tire
conservation. You also have to plan the right strategy where your pit stops
are concerned to win because it is easy to get caught a lap down. Since I've
been with ppc Racing, I've had one win and four top-ten finishes in four
starts, so I'm really confident about our chances to win this weekend."

*In Green's four starts at 'The Rock' with ppc Racing, his average start is
3.75 and his average finish is 3.25. New Superstition? Since Green has shaved
his mustache before the Dover event in September, he has posted five top-10
finishes in a row and two of those finishes are back-to-back wins. His
finishes are: Dover (1st), Kansas City (1st), Charlotte (10th), Memphis (2nd)
and Phoenix (2nd), giving him an average finish of 3.2 since the mustache
came off. Equipment: Green and his Nesquik Racing team are taking the same
car to Rockingham that competed earlier this year at Nashville (outside pole,
led 51 laps, finished 8th), Kentucky (outside pole, led 69 laps before
getting involved in an accident) and Bristol fall (started 3rd, finished
2nd). Jeff Green / North Carolina Speedway
