SCI Expands Its eMPower Implementation to Latin American Operations; Selects Tecnomatix Unicam eM-Verifeed Solution for Improved Quality Assurance and Production Yields
NASHUA, N.H.--Oct. 30, 2001--Tecnomatix Technologies, Ltd. , the leading provider of Manufacturing Process Management software solutions, today announced that SCI Systems - Latin America has selected eM-Verifeed for its real-time part and feeder control systems. SCI's eM-Verifeed installation will encompass five manufacturing sites which will integrate with the company's existing eM-Assembly Expert installation. The move follows a similar deal between Tecnomatix Unicam, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tecnomatix Technologies, and SCI's Asian operations, and is expected to further improve SCI's industry-leading quality assurance and production yields in the Latin American region by providing tools to verify that all parts required for a product are assigned to the appropriate feeder. With eM-Verifeed, a single computer right on the shop floor can control all of the feeders on the floor through an easy-to-use Windows-based application.
"Tecnomatix Unicam's eM-Verifeed delivered on its promises to our Asian plants, so we have decided to expand the program to include Latin America," said Dave Dutkowsky, SCI executive vice president, Latin America. "In addition to improved yields, eM-Verifeed has helped us reduce defects and improve the efficiency of the assembly process. We now expect similar results in our Latin American operations. Tecnomatix Unicam has been very flexible and supportive of our production requirements, helping us customize the product to meet our specific OEM needs. We couldn't be more pleased."
According to Tecnomatix Unicam chief executive officer, Israel Levy, "SCI's decision to expand its implementation of our eM-Verifeed applications to its Latin American operations is significant evidence of their confidence in the Tecnomatix Manufacturing Process Management strategy and eMPower solutions. eM-Verifeed lets SCI manage and control their assembly production lines more accurately and reliably - an important factor in controlling costs and minimizing production waste. Tecnomatix Unicam looks forward to working with SCI on this important expansion of their eMPower solution."
