Three Drivers/Teams Still in Running for Like a Rock
Award
FONTANA, Calif.: After 23 races of the 24-race 2001 NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series, Addington Racing and rookie Travis Kvapil, with 4111 of a possible
4181 laps completed in the No. 60 Cat Rental Stores Silverado, continue to
lead Chevrolet¹s "Like a Rock" Award standings.
With one race remaining and 100 laps to be counted, only three drivers/teams
have a mathematical chance of earning this year-end prize: Kvapil/Addington
Racing, Ricky Hendrick/Hendrick Motorsports, and Jack Sprague/Hendrick
Motorsports.
The recipient of this award will be determined at the finish of the
season-ending Auto Club 200 at the California Speedway in Fontana, Calif., on
Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001.
The Chevrolet "Like a Rock" Award, a $50,000 winner-take-all contingency
award, is designed to recognize the "Longest Lasting Most Dependable"
Chevrolet-equipped team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series completing the
most laps of competition during a season.
