SCCA: Vision Entertainment joins SCCA Sponsorship
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (October 29, 2001) -- The Sports Car Club of
America, Inc. and SCCA Pro Racing Ltd. have named Vision Entertainment to its
sales and marketing services force.
Vision Entertainment, of Laguna Beach, Calif., will oversee new
sponsorship and sales ventures pertaining to the Rally, Solo and Club Racing
departments of the SCCA as well as SCCA Pro Racing and its Speedvision World
Challenge and Pro Spec Racer series.
"This is an unbelievably exciting time for the SCCA and SCCA Pro
Racing, with the addition of the Vision staff, which has an outstanding
record of results and brings a new perspective on grassroots and professional
motorsports events," said Steve Johnson, SCCA President and CEO. "The
addition of their efforts will take all facets of the SCCA to a new level."
Now in its fifth year, Vision Entertainment is the promoter of
such popular national and west coast lifestyle events as the Hot Import
Nights, the Hot Import Daze, Beach Fest, the Fresh Tracks Snow and
Skateboarding Expo, The National Houseboat Expo and GT Live. Vision's
marketing and sales arm has been the driving force behind the success of the
events, as well as its keen ability to recognize and capitalize on market
trends.
"It takes extreme talent and motivation as well as a keen sense
of where trends are heading in order to keep a finger on a market's pulse,"
said Mitch Wright, SCCA Pro Racing Vice President and General Manager.
"Vision has those attributes, which is what has made them so successful in
the past."
"We believe that SCCA and SCCA Pro Racing have very marketable
products to motorsports and automotive enthusiasts, but there hasn't been a
complete program in place to take advantage of what it has to offer from a
marketing and sales standpoint," said Todd Wallin, President of Vision
Entertainment. "We're anxious to get started immediately, creating new
opportunities and helping SCCA expand its reach and sponsorship value."
In addition to its in-house staff, Vision Entertainment has
contracted motorsports specialist Tomo Meek to work in concert with Paul
Mecca's Cornelius, N.C.-based ESP, Inc. to craft programs to maximize new
sponsor exposure and value to the SCCA.
"We're excited to announce that we've brought in Tomo Meek as our
Director of Sales for SCCA products, and there is synergy in our efforts and
those of Paul Mecca," added Wallin. "We're confident that the marketing and
sales efforts beginning right now will be the most complete and successful in
the SCCA's history."
