DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 29 -- Visteon Corporation's AM/FM/Single CD Player was ranked as the ``Highest Quality AM/FM/Single CD Player,'' according to J.D. Power and Associates. Visteon's AM/FM/Single CD Player had the fewest consumer-reported problems in new 2001 (and some early released 2002) vehicles after three months of vehicle ownership
``We're proud to be honored by J.D. Power with this award,'' said Michael Johnston, Visteon's President and Chief Operating Officer. ``Visteon is committed to providing the highest quality systems solutions to its customers. Feedback from our customers is the metric that matters most.''
According to consumers surveyed by J.D. Power and Associates, Visteon is ranked the highest quality supplier of factory-installed AM/FM/Single CD players with 3.5 problems per 100 vehicles. The industry average is 5.4 problems per 100 vehicles. The report determines quality rankings by reporting AM/FM/Single CD player problems consumers experienced.
The AM/FM/Single CD Player is produced at Visteon's Altec plant in Chihuahua, Mexico, and Visteon's Arbor plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil. According to J.D. Power and Associates, vehicles equipped with AM/FM/Single CD without the cassette represent approximately 25 percent of the market. With extensive engineering and systems integration expertise, the company's line of AM/FM/Single CD Players is just one example of Visteon's leadership as a supplier of premium audio systems.
The 2001 Audio Quality Report is based on the responses of more than 82,000 owners of new cars and light trucks who indicate their new vehicles are equipped with a factory-installed stereo system.
