TRW Launches New Friction Products At AAPEX

Mario Andretti Endorses Kelsey-Hayes Pro Series line, Signs Autographs

CARSON, Calif., Oct. 25 -- TRW plans to launch its new, market-leading Pro Series friction program under the Kelsey-Hayes brand, highlight its Autospecialty business' new Valu MAXX chassis line and most up- to-date braking and clutch catalogs at the upcoming Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), Oct. 30 - Nov. 2, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nev. TRW will be located at Booth #5316 at the Sands Expo Center. Mario Andretti, world famous racecar driver, will make a special appearance at the TRW booth on Wednesday, Oct. 31 to sign autographs and greet fans from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Andretti is often referred to as the greatest racecar driver of all time. He retired from racing at the end of 1994. Now a successful businessman off the track, he serves as spokesman, associate and friend to TRW. With its new Kelsey-Hayes Pro Series friction line, TRW has created a uniquely formulated material that provides customers with high performance, durability and heavy metal-free friction products. The launch of the Pro Series friction program is a further step for TRW to increase its presence and become the leading provider of chassis systems to the global aftermarket. TRW company representatives will be available at the booth to discuss the new program, a significant development for TRW's aftermarket business. This year marks the availability of a short line of popular chassis parts under the Valu MAXX brand. This competitively priced offering has 273 of the most popular domestic and import numbers within the line, covering ball joints, idler/pitman arms, drag/center links, tie rod ends and bushings. Sourced from QS-9000 manufacturing facilities worldwide, this line is priced to sell and offer maximum coverage with minimum part numbers. This offering adds to last year's introduction of a full line offering of steering and suspension parts under the Autospecialty brand. In North America, TRW Autospecialty's aftermarket business distributes brakes, steering and suspension and clutch products, manufactures rotors, brake shoes and remanufactures brake calipers. Products are marketed through the two and three-step distribution channels, wholesaler/installer, in the Autospecialty brand. One hundred percent of TRW's brake pads are produced in facilities in North America and Europe. The Pro Series Friction program will be sold under the Kelsey-Hayes brand, by TRW's Autospecialty business. TRW's Autospecialty business is part of TRW's aftermarket, which delivers a comprehensive range of replacement parts for braking, steering and suspension and clutch systems covering all vehicle makes. TRW's aftermarket is part of TRW Automotive, a world leader in braking, steering and suspension systems, automotive electronics, occupant safety systems, commercial steering and engine components.
