Christine Cortez is Appointed Senior Vice President Service & Parts At Chrysler Group, Mark D. Norman is Named Vice President -- Sales & Marketing Operations
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 24 -- Chrysler Group today announced the appointment of Christine K. Cortez as Senior Vice President -- Service & Parts, effective January 1, 2002. Cortez will report to Jim Schroer, Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing.
In this position, Cortez, 47, will be responsible for Chrysler Group's global service and parts operations. She succeeds Darrell L. Davis, who will retire on December 31, 2001, after 35 years of service for the company.
``Christine's business savvy, excellent rapport with our dealers, and her extensive experience at Chrysler Group, will help us maximize the potential of our service and parts operations,'' said Schroer.
Cortez began her automotive career at Chrysler in 1976 as a management trainee. Since that time, she has held positions of increasing responsibility, such as Controller of Mopar Parts, and Vice President of Fleet Operations. She currently serves as Chrysler Group Vice President -- Sales & Marketing Operations.
Cortez holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Western Michigan University and a master's degree in management from Wayne State University in Detroit.
Mark D. Norman is named Vice President -- Sales & Marketing Operations, succeeding Cortez. Norman will be responsible for sales planning, distribution and scheduling activities for the company. He will report to Gary Dilts, Chrysler Group Senior Vice President -- Sales.
Previously, Norman held various sales and marketing management positions within the Ford and Lincoln Mercury divisions of the Ford Motor Company. He was most recently responsible for marketing programs and strategy at the Ford Division. Norman has a bachelor's degree in economics from Rice University and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
