WHAT:	With more than 10 million digital cameras in the marketplace, consumers
have spoken. Digital cameras are a hit and the market is gearing up for a busy
holiday season—purchase plans indicate 50 percent of U.S. Internet households
will own a digital camera by the end of the year. The digital market is
experiencing explosive growth, however options for sharing digital photos are
limited. Scores of consumers will give digital photography a shot this season
and will also be looking for a simple and easy way to view and share these
pictures with friends and family. Microsoft has a solution that introduces a
new way to view and share digital photos: the TV Photo Viewer.

HOW:	Using this new product, consumers will be able to view their favorite
digital pictures on their home television set, in a comfortable setting with
family and friends. The device, which connects to the TV via a standard RCA
cable, can be left permanently plugged in, so there is no hassle with plugging
and unplugging cables, making set-up and repeat performances simple and
uncomplicated. Any photos in JPEG format can be used, whether they are uploaded
from a digital camera, e-mail, a scanner or developed pictures. Using a PC and
TV Photo Viewer Software, consumers can select up to 40 photos and save them to
a standard floppy disk
WHEN:	Microsoft TV Photo Viewer will be available for an estimated retail
price of $159 (U.S.). TV Photo Viewer is backed by a one-year limited hardware
warranty from Microsoft in the United States.
