Johnson Controls Inaugural Exhibit at the Tokyo Motor Show

Tokyo, Oct. 23 -- Leading automotive interior supplier Johnson Controls has been around for more than 115 years, but it will be the newest kid on the block at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show. As a first- time exhibitor in Tokyo, the company will demonstrate its global capabilities in innovative interior systems, showing customers that Johnson Controls has what it takes to meet their needs around the world.

Johnson Controls' product display (booth #N719) at the Tokyo Motor Show -- scheduled from October 27 through November 7 at the Nippon Convention Center -- reflects the company's ability to create world-class interior products and systems. The exhibit will showcase the company's range of interior systems, including overhead, door, seating, electronic and cockpit systems.

Johnson Controls expanded its Automotive Systems Group's Japan business office and engineering technical center in Yokohama in 1997. Most recently, Johnson Controls acquired Japan-based automotive seat manufacturer, Ikeda Bussan Company -- a joint-venture partner since 1986.

In non-automotive business, Johnson Controls has operated in Japan since 1973 through its joint venture called Yokogawa Johnson, a leading supplier of building controls and services to the non-residential buildings market.

With 21 facilities throughout Asia and numerous facilities across North America and Europe, Johnson Controls serves the needs of its customers locally and abroad. They include BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault, Rover, Toyota and Volkswagen.
