Olympic Gold Medallist Picabo Street is helping to kick off the program from her home city of Park City, Utah. HOW: From Nov. 5 through Dec. 30, for every two Kellogg’s® cereals (10-ounces or larger) purchased at an Albertson’s, Acme, Jewel or Seessel’s grocery store, 25 cents will be donated to the U.S. Olympic team, up to $1 million. Based on last year’s sales of Kellogg cereals in those stores, that requires only a 4 percent increase in purchases to reach the goal. The funds collected through the Kellogg’s/Albertson’s promotion will benefit the Feed the FundÔ U.S. Olympic Team fundraising program. WHO: Street joined the U.S. Ski Team in 1989 when she was 17. Seven years later, she became the only American skier to ever win a World Cup downhill championship crown. She repeated the feat in 1996. Picabo is named after the Idaho town of — what else — Picabo. As an infant, she loved to play peek-a-boo. In Native American language, Picabo means "Shining Waters." Kellogg USA is an Official Supplier to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City and the 2002 and 2004 U.S. Olympic Teams.
