The Exciting New Cruze From GM - The Newest Japanese Car Maker
The World of auto making keeps getting smaller.
On Monday General Motors presented the worldwide unveiling of the production model of the brand new Chevrolet Cruze Wagon, a new offering designed by GM's Australian unit, Holden, and engineered and Manufactured in Japan with local partner Suzuki Motor Corp..
GM also introduced the e-Cruze at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show which spotlites ultra in car telematics technology and Internet connectivity.
This marked GM’s return to Manufacturing in Japan after more than 60 years, and is the first time GM and one of its alliance partners have jointly developed a car for Japan. GM and Suzuki are hoping to sell 20,000 Cruze cars in Japan a year beginning in November.
Cruze prices start at $9,900
Designed to showcase GM's leadership in e-commerce and e-technology, the car displayed the latest vision of telematics and mobile commerce.

GM Japan President Mitsuru Sato said that because GM is now actually manufacturing in Japan not just acting as an importer “it is planning to become a member of the influential JAMA or Japanese Auto Manufacturing Association”, an extremely influential industry group.
