Don't Get On The Wrong Plane To New Orleans

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 22 --

Northwest Airlines (Nasdaq: NWAC - news) today announced that it will waive administrative fees and some fare differences for passengers traveling to the Superbowl and the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention in New Orleans.

``Our customers had no control over the changes in the dates of these two events,'' said Tom Bach, vice president of pricing and yield management for Northwest Airlines. ``In most cases, our special policy will accommodate previously ticketed passengers who plan to attend the Superbowl or the NADA Convention at no additional cost to them.''

The National Football League (NFL) and NADA agreed to exchange dates because of delays in the regular season following the Sept. 11 tragedy. The Superbowl, which was originally scheduled for Jan. 27, was rescheduled for Feb. 3. The NADA Convention, which was originally scheduled for Feb. 2 - 5, will now be held Jan. 26 - 29.

To take advantage of Northwest's special waiver policy, passengers originally ticketed for travel to New Orleans for the Superbowl or the NADA Convention must reschedule their tickets before October 31, 2001. Passengers must rebook the same itinerary in the same fare class for travel the previous or following weekend. Original minimum/maximum stay requirements still apply. Northwest will waive administrative fees and any fare differences resulting from a change in the day of week, time of day or seasonal application. If the same class of service is not available, passengers will be able to apply the full value of their ticket against the current fare and Northwest will waive the administrative fee.

Cancellation penalties will apply for passengers no longer traveling. Northwest will refund any administrative fees to those passengers who have already reissued their tickets prior to the establishment of the new policy outlined above.

To make changes to their Superbowl or NADA travel plans, customers should contact their travel agent or Northwest Airlines Reservations at 1-800-225-2525.

Northwest Airlines serves New Orleans with daily nonstops from its Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Memphis hubs.
