Law Finishes Strong for Porsche in 2001
PHOENIX, Arizona (October 22, 2001) - In 2001, Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series driver, Darren Law proved that he is among the best of Porsche drivers.
For the second consecutive year, Law will finish in the top ten in the prestigious Porsche Cup, which includes all professional Porsche drivers from around the world.
By just starting the race at the rescheduled Grand-Am season finale in Daytona, Law will clinch the 2001 GT Class Driver Championship. He finished runner-up to his GT class teammate in the championship last year.
Law co-drove the #81 Motorola/Commscope/G&W Motorsports Porsche GT3-R to victory lane at the Six Hours of The Glen, had four Top-3 finishes and two Top-5 finishes.
One of Law's biggest accomplishments this year is the fact that by clinching the Grand-Am championship, he will be the only Porsche driver in the United States to have won a championship for the German marquee in the 2001 season.
Law's final events of the 2001 Grand-Am season will be at the Finale at Daytona International Speedway. Law will be participating in the Grand-Am Cup race on Friday November 2, beginning at 6:00 p.m., and at the Rolex Series finale on Saturday November 3, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
