Neogent Announces Implementation of Vignette Enterprise Application Portal for Candle Corporation
LOS ANGELES--Oct. 22, 2001--Neogent Inc., a company dedicated to developing and integrating highly scalable e-business solutions, today announced the first official launch of a partner implementation of the Vignette Enterprise Application Portal (VEAP).Neogent provided professional services for the VEAP implementation for Candle Corporation, one of the world's largest independent global software and services companies. Candle Corporation previously outsourced custom HTML development for each page of its static sites.
The implementation of the VEAP enables Candle to graduate into an efficient, interactive marketplace by reducing both delivery time and development costs while enhancing customer service. The significant reduction of corporate website maintenance costs coupled with the new ability to quickly develop and deliver content was highlighted by Dawn Nalli, Regional Vice President of Engagement Delivery at Neogent.
"We were able to demonstrate to Candle how VEAP could reduce both delivery time and development costs by as much as 60% over other custom solutions by utilizing VEAP's powerful out-of-the-box portal solution. This solution creates a compelling web experience that will continually bring customers back to the Candle site."
The significance of this launch utilizing a Solaris database is notable as previous Vignette beta implementations have been run on NT. In addition, the launch follows the successful completion of Neogent's planning, analysis, custom development, and Q&A during which time Neogent was able to further enhance and extend VEAP's out-of-the-box capabilities to cost-effectively and rapidly architect an extensive solution to accommodate Candle's specific business requirements.
"Neogent is an integral part in the launch of our new and enhanced Web site, scheduled for mid-December," said Paulette Scheffer, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Candle Corporation. "Candle selected Neogent for their depth of skill and impeccable expertise in design, development and systems integration. This, coupled with their teamwork and dedication, has resulted in a rapid deployment of a powerful portal solution."
