PPG Directors Set Dividend

    PITTSBURGH--Oct. 19, 2001--The board of directors of PPG Industries today declared a regular quarterly dividend of 42 cents a share, payable Dec. 12 to shareholders of record Nov. 12.
    PPG has paid uninterrupted dividends since 1899, increasing payments for 31 consecutive years.
