Six Drivers/Teams Still in Running
PHOENIX, Ariz.: After 22 races of the 24-race 2001 NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series, Addington Racing and rookie Travis Kvapil, with 3952 of a possible
4022 laps completed in the No. 60 Cat Rental Stores Silverado, continue to
lead Chevrolet¹s "Like a Rock" Award standings.
With two races remaining and 250 laps to be counted, only six drivers/teams
have a mathematical chance of earning this year-end prize: Kvapil/Addington
Racing, Ricky Hendrick/Hendrick Motorsports, Dennis Setzer/Morgan-Dollar
Motorsports, Jack Sprague/Hendrick Motorsports, Lance Norick/L&R Motorsports
and Coy Gibbs/Joe Gibbs Racing.
The Chevrolet "Like a Rock" Award, a $50,000 winner-take-all contingency
award, is designed to recognize the "Longest Lasting Most Dependable"
Chevrolet-equipped team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series completing the
most laps of competition during a season.
