Torvec Infinitely Variable
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 16 -- Torvec, Inc.'s (OTC Bulletin Board: TOVC) Board of Directors announced today that it had completed the qualification review of domestic and international diesel engine providers. As a result, Torvec has made arrangements with a major diesel engine manufacturer to supply it with the most advanced diesel engines to test its Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT) in order to meet the ever-increasing diesel emission standards throughout the world. The engines are electronically controlled, and Torvec utilizes this electronic data to interact with its IVT. For current engines without adequate electronics, Torvec is working with Malone Specialty, Inc. of Mentor OH, an automotive electronics company, to design an electronic controller that enables existing diesel engines to interact effectively with Torvec's transmission. These additional electronic design interfaces are expected to provide Torvec with access to a much larger potential market (retrofit).
