Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the U.S. names Executive Director

Torrance, CA -- The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States
(PBTFUS) and American Honda Motor Co., Inc. are pleased to announce that Pete
terHorst will become the Executive Director of the PBTFUS. TerHorst, press
manager for American Honda's motorcycle division since 1997, will join the
Foundation's Asheville, NC staff in December.

"We are very excited to have Pete join our team," said Mike Traynor, president
of the PBTFUS. "He will significantly expand our capacity to fulfill the long
term mission of the organization, finding the cause and cure of pediatric brain
tumors."

TerHorst will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Foundation and assist
founders Mike and Dianne Traynor as they focus on new fund raising initiatives
and advocacy for the plight of children afflicted with brain tumors.

"American Honda has been a tremendous company to work for," terHorst said. "I am
honored to be selected for this position and I hope to use the skills and
lessons I've acquired at Honda to guide the Foundation toward its goal of
eradicating the number one killer of children by disease."

The PBTFUS, which conducts the national Ride for Kids program, has a
long-standing relationship with American Honda. Honda first supported the Ride
for Kids in 1984 and adopted the program as a corporate charity in 1991. Since
that time, the Foundation has become the world's leading non-governmental
funding agency for childhood brain tumor research.

Honda Vice President Ray Blank said, "Pete has been a valued associate in his
nineteen plus years with the Motorcycle Division. While he will certainly be
missed, we are confident he will bring dedication, compassion, vigor and
integrity to this noble endeavor."

An active volunteer with the Ride for Kids program since 1989, terHorst added,
"I first committed myself to this important cause while living in Atlanta. Now I
look forward to working with all of the supporters of the PBTFUS and the Ride
for Kids program."
