AUTOGRAPH Session Precedes SATURDAY NIGHT MAYOR'S CUP RACE AT IRWINDALE

SPECIAL ON-TRACK AUTOGRAPH SESSION ADDED TO
SATURDAY NIGHT MAYOR'S CUP RACE AT IRWINDALE


Irwindale, Calif. - - A special on-track public-invited autograph session from 6:00 to 6:45 pm will precede the Mayor's Cup races at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night, October 13.  All twenty-eight Food 4 Less Super Late Models main event contenders will line up on the front straight in qualifying order and the fans will have a chance to mix an mingle with the drivers and their crews.  Photos and autographs are encouraged!

During the on-track session car numbers will be drawn by the individual mayors in attendance and assigned to the race cars, with each representing a different city from the San Gabriel Valley.   As of this date the participating cities are: Alhambra, Arcadia, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bradbury, Claremont, Covina, Diamond Bar, Duarte, El Monte, Glendora, Industry, Irwindale, La Canada-Flintridge, La Puente, La Verne, Monrovia, Monterey Park, Pasadena, Pomona, Rosemead, San Dimas, San Gabriel, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South El Monte, South Pasadena, Temple City, Walnut, and West Covina.

On-track autograph sessions like this one are usually only staged for special touring groups like ASA, Winston West, USAC, and the Featherlite Tour but the Irwindale management wanted to honor its premier weekly NASCAR division with its own session.

The spectator gates will open to the public at 4:00 pm. and racing will start at 7.
