Local youth invited to free event to promote safe
          driving practices

WHAT: In an effort to educate and teach Idaho's youth about the
importance of respecting the rules of the road, Washington
Mutual is proud to present a special appearance by Detective
Bob Banta. Banta, one of Idaho's "fastest" police officers and
a member of the Beat the Heat team, is gearing up to race his
140 mph Boise City Police Chevelle in the Halloween Classic at
Firebird Raceway on October 20th. In addition to showing off
his drag racing police car, Detective Banta will be talking
about the important message behind Beat the Heat program which
strives to help educate young drivers about respecting the law
and showing them where racing is legal. Law enforcement
officers in the Beat the Heat program also serve as role
models and help to further enforce the message of saying no to
drugs and alcohol. A true Halloween treat for racing and law
enforcement fans, this event is bound to be a memorable
afternoon as they will also have the opportunity to get
autographs, sit in the display car and have their photos taken
        with Detective Banta.
