Caliber Collision Centers Acquires Its Third New Center in 15 Days; Caliber Accelerates Growth Strategy With an Additional Facility in Fountain Valley

    IRVINE, Calif.--Oct. 11, 2001--Caliber Collision Centers, an Irvine, Calif.-based operator of high-quality collision repair facilities in California and Texas, has acquired the former Saturn Paint & Body in Fountain Valley, Calif., the third acquisition Caliber has made in 15 days.
    With the recent addition of centers in San Antonio and San Diego, this latest acquisition in Fountain Valley further extends Caliber's position as the largest collision repair provider in California with 34 centers in operation and expands Caliber's position as the largest independently operated collision repair organization in the United States with annual revenues exceeding $190 million.
    According to Caliber's senior vice president of client services and operations, Shawn Hezar, this latest acquisition further strengthens Caliber's ability to service the growing needs of customers in the Orange County area.
    "With 18,000 square feet of production space at Saturn Paint & Body and the recent 10,000 sq. foot addition to our Costa Mesa center, Caliber remains focused on providing greater efficiency and high-quality collision repair," said Hezar.     Caliber will rename the former Saturn Paint & Body to Caliber Collision Centers -- Fountain Valley and will be retaining its current customer base, while enhancing its appeal to all makes and models.
    Founded in 1991, with headquarters in Irvine, Caliber Collision Centers operates high-quality collision repair facilities in California and Texas. Caliber currently owns and operates 62 facilities and plans to continue acquiring, developing and integrating high-volume collision repair centers while providing innovative collision repair solutions and automobile physical damage claims support.
