A. Schulman Finalizes New Credit Agreement

    AKRON, Ohio--Oct. 8, 2001--A. Schulman Inc. today announced the completion of a new $130 million, four-year revolving credit agreement.
    Cleveland-based KeyBank N.A. was the lead bank for the eight-bank financing group, which includes two foreign banks. The new financing agreement replaces a $100 million facility that was scheduled to expire in August 2002.
    "This new agreement has increased our financial flexibility for both our domestic and international operations," said Terry L. Haines, president and chief executive officer. "We have expanded our bank group and provided additional financing capabilities for working capital, capital expenditures and other corporate requirements. This line will ensure our credit needs, especially in this difficult and uncertain economic environment."
