Final results from Summit D-2 Finals

RACERS SET SIGHTS ON CALIFORNIA AS MOROSO MOTORSPORTS PARK CLAIMS TEAM
CHAMPIONSHIP

        Commerce, Ga.-The NHRA Summit Racing Series Southeast Division
Finals concluded at Atlanta Dragway on Saturday with champions being
crowned in the Super Pro, Pro, Street/Sportsman, and Pro Bike/Motorcycle
categories. These wins send four more racers to California to compete in
the NHRA Summit Racing Series National Championship, to be run in
conjunction with the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals,
November 9-11, in Pomona, Calif.
        Leading the way in Super Pro was Mike Dike Sr. from Montgomery
Motorsports Park.  Dike took the victory over Joey Steele of Music City
Raceway.
        The Pro category saw Southeastern International Dragway's own Bruce
Wilson defeat Jacob Rutledge of Atlanta Dragway.  Rutledge drove his '71
Nova to victory with a 1/8th-mile pass of 7.149 seconds at 96.98 mph.
        In Sportsman/Street competition, Van Greer of Bristol Dragway
earned the win with an impressive run of 10.022 seconds in his '73
Suburban.
        Ed Ehrke of Moroso Motorsports Park in his' 73 Kawasaki won pro
Bike/Motorcycle.  Ehrke defeated Dennis Stewart of Montgomery Motorsports
Park with a run of 5.460 seconds and 118.43 mph.
        In the team competition, Moroso Motorsports Park took top honors
for the second consecutive year with a total score of 44 points.  Finishing
tied for second were the teams from Huntsville Dragway and Music City
Raceway with 41. Rounding out the top three are the teams representing U.S.
19 Dragway and Bristol Dragway with 40 points.
