Detroit, Mich. - General Motors announced its sponsorship of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's (DSO) 2001-2002 Radio Broadcast Season. "GM and its 7,500 dealers nationwide have sponsored this series since 1984," said CJ Fraleigh, GM's executive director-advertising and corporate marketing. "More than one million listeners in the U.S. and Canada can hear the broadcasts, which are carried on nearly 300 stations."
The DSO Radio Broadcast Season, hosted by TV talk show host and Broadway show narrator Dick Cavett, begins Sunday, Oct. 7. It features 26 weekly programs of music from the Orchestra's classical concert series, recorded at Detroit's historic Orchestra Hall.
The DSO is the nation's first official radio broadcast orchestra. With GM's support, the DSO radio broadcasts are heard by more people than any other orchestra broadcasts in the world. A complete broadcast schedule can be found on the DSO's website at www.detroitsymphony.com.
